11 Aug 2001 | Journal: | Computer Modelling & New Technologies. 2000. V. 4. No 2. 72-74 | Subject: | General Physics | physics.gen-ph | Affiliation: | University of Latvia, Riga, Latvia | Abstract: | It has been shown that the electron wave vector in crystal can not be smaller than a certain value. As the result in crystal there are many first Brillouin zones but not one, as it has been supposed earlier. In crystal there can be many electrons with certain value of the wave vector, but not two, as it has been supposed earlier. These electrons must be at sufficiently large distance from each other. An attempt has been made to explain the decreasing of electric and thermal conductivity with decreasing of the size of the crystal. | Source: | arXiv, physics/0108017 | Services: | Forum | Review | PDF | Favorites |
