2 Mar 2002 | Journal: | Journal of the Physical Society of Japan, Vol. 72, No. 10, pp.2473-2476 (2003) | Subject: | Statistical Mechanics | cond-mat.stat-mech | Abstract: | We examine information theory using the steady-state Boltzmann equation. In a nonequilibrium steady-state system under steady heat conduction, the thermodynamic quantities from information theory are calculated and compared with those from the steady-state Boltzmann equation. We have found that information theory is inconsistent with the steady-state Boltzmann equation. | Source: | arXiv, cond-mat/0203036 | Services: | Forum | Review | PDF | Favorites |
