 Article overview

A discrete model and analysis of one-dimensional deformations in structural interface with micro-rotations
Aleksey A. Vasiliev ; Andrey E. Miroshnichenko ; Massimo Ruzzene ;
Date 22 May 2009
AbstractThe static and dynamic properties of a structural interface of finite thickness are studied. As the basis, we consider the Cosserat lattice model in the phenomenological form with possible practical interpretations. One-dimensional static solutions, harmonic and spatially localized dynamic solutions describing shear and micro-rotations in interface are obtained and discussed. An analysis at the space of structural parameters is performed. It is shown that the systems with long- and short-wavelength localized deformations may exist.
