Renormalization Group and Statistical Model of Spikes in the Brain
Eiji Konishi ;
Date 29 May 2010
AbstractWe consider a linearized and continuous toy model of neural networks. Invoking the Eguchi-Kawai large N reduction, we show that when the number of neurons is exponentially large, the d.o.f. of the dynamics on the network can be completely removed. Owing to this feature of the model, we can microscopically reconstruct the spikes in the neural network from the thermal dissipative quantum d.o.f. of quantum electric dipole fields of intracellular and extracellular ions and water in the perimembranous region and the quantum d.o.f. of quantum radiative electromagnetic fields interacting with them and incorporate L. M. Ricciardi and H. Umezawa’s proposal on memory.
