Date 15 Oct 2010
AbstractWe experimentally demonstrated low-power-consumption vortex-core switching using tailored rotating magnetic fields achieved with orthogonal and unipolar Gaussian-pulse currents along with optimized pulse width and time delay, where and p are the angular eigenfrequency and the polarization of the vortex, respectively. This achievement based upon fundamentals of vortex-core switching dynamics is the critical milestone toward the realization of a vortex random access memory device.
