Perturbative and Nonperturbative Kolmogorov Turbulence in a Gluon Plasma | M.E. Carrington
; A Rebhan
; | Date: |
1 Nov 2010 | Abstract: | In numerical simulations of nonabelian plasma instabilities, a turbulent
spectrum has been observed characterized by a phase-space density of particles
$n(p)sim p^{-
u}$ with exponent $
usimeq 2$, which is larger than expected
from relativistic $2leftrightarrow 2$ scatterings. Using the approach of
Zakharov, L’vov and Falkovich we analyse possible Kolomogorov coefficients for
relativistic $(m geq 4)$-particle processes, which give at most $
u=5/3$
perturbatively. We find that the result $
u=2$ could arise from
nonperturbative vertex resummations with self-consistently determined scaling
behavior. | Source: | arXiv, 1011.0393 | Services: | Forum | Review | PDF | Favorites |
