Quantum dynamics of anharmonic oscillators
C. Joshi ; M. Jonson ; E. Andersson ; P. Ohberg ;
Date 11 May 2011
AbstractWe investigate the quantum dynamics of anharmonic oscillators with quartic potentials. We consider the interaction of such oscillators with an effective two-level system and show that the indirect interaction between the oscillators mediated via the two-level system leads to time-varying entanglement. This entanglement is found to be strongly enhanced due to the nonlinear dynamics of the oscillators. We further illustrate the effect of nonlinearities by studying the coupling between a nonlinear oscillator and a cavity field, where we present a full analytical treatment which is valid in the weakly non-linear and low radiation pressure coupling regime. We show that two such cavity modes interacting with an anharmonic oscillator exhibit a time-varying entanglement.
