A mechanism of almost perfect energy transfer in Fenna-Matthews-Olson complex | Robert Alicki
; Wieslaw Miklaszewski
; | Date: |
1 Jul 2011 | Abstract: | The Wigner-Weisskopf-type model describing the energy transfer between two
centers mediated by a continuum of energy levels, developed in cite{Alicki11},
is applied to the Fenna-Matthews-Olson (FMO) photosynthetic complex. This
pigment-protein complex mediates the excitation energy transfer from the
antenna to the reaction center with a remarkably high efficiency. The proposed
model provides a simple resonance mechanism of this phenomenon employing
exciton coherent motion. A coupling to the vibrational environment is a
necessary component of this mechanism as well as a fine tuning of the FMO
complex Hamiltonian. | Source: | arXiv, 1107.0198 | Services: | Forum | Review | PDF | Favorites |
