Electronic disorders and magnetic-field-induced superconductivity enhancement in Fe1+y(Te1-xSex)
Jin Hu ; Tijiang Liu ; Bin Qian ; Zhiqiang Mao ;
Date 3 Nov 2011
AbstractWe investigated the relationship between normal state and superconducting properties in iron chalcogenide Fe1+y(Te1-xSex) through systematic specific heat and Hall coefficient measurements. We found that, with an increase of Se content in the underdoped superconducting region, the remarkable increase of the superconducting volume fraction Vsc and the normal state metallicity occurs when the normal state Sommerfeld coefficient and Hall coefficient drop drastically. Additionally, Vsc is surprisingly enhanced by magnetic field. These observations, plus Hall angle analyses, suggest that the suppression of superconductivity in the underdoped region is associated with electronic disorders caused by incoherent magnetic scattering arising from (pi,0) magnetic fluctuations.
