Vortex States and $H$-$T$ Phase Diagram of Multicomponent Superconductors with Time-Reversal Symmetry Breaking | Y. Takahashi

6 Sep 2013 | Abstract: | Multiband superconductors with frustrated interband couplings are
investigated highlighting time-reversal-symmetry breaking (TRSB) state. A
stability condition of the TRSB state and multicomponent Ginzburg-Landau (GL)
formalism are derived from the Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer theory. Using a
multicomponent time-dependent GL method, vortex states and $H$-$T$ phase
diagram are investigated at the vicinity of critical temperature $T_{c}$ where
the GL theory is valid. When material parameters satisfy the condition that the
nucleation field is slightly larger than the thermodynamic field ($H_{n}
gtrsim H_{tc}$), an unconventional intermediate state (vortex cluster)
appears, which cannot be classified to type-I or type-II superconductor.
Calculation of interface energy in the TRSB superconductor reveals that the
vortex cluster state consists of positive interface energy. Based on systematic
calculations of vortex states changing magnetic flux density, a novel $H$-$T$
phase diagram including the first-order transition is constructed. | Source: | arXiv, 1309.1570 | Services: | Forum | Review | PDF | Favorites |
