29 Dec 2015 | Abstract: | Entanglement spectra (ES) for the critical SU(N) spin chain of finite length
is studied with the density matrix renormalization group method for N = 2,3,4.
Plotted for each cut position n from the edge, ES at the n-th cut displays a
hierarchy of degenerate levels identical to the low-energy spectra of the same
SU(N) spin Hamiltonian of length n under the open boundary condition. The cut
position dependence of the ES shows a period-N oscillatory behavior for a given
SU(N) chain, reminiscent of the oscillatory part of the entanglement entropy
observed in the past for the same models. Oscillations of the ES do not die out
in the bulk of the chain, in contrast to the asymptotically vanishing
oscillation of the entanglement entropy. For certain cuts, the obtained ES for
the critical chain (written in the fundamental representation of SU(N)) is
nearly identical to that of the SU(N) spin model written in the adjoint
representation. Heuristic argument based on Young tableaux consideration can
