Simple way to calculate UV-finite one-loop quantum energy in Randall-Sundrum model | Boris L. Altshuler

6 Jan 2017 | Abstract: | Simple expression is received for UV-finite difference of one-loop quantum
energies for two arbitrary values of parameter of the double-trace asymptotic
boundary conditions. This result generalizes Gubser and Mitra calculation for
particular case of difference of "regular" and "irregular" one-loop energies.
It is demonstrated that Gelfand-Yaglom or equivalently Barvinsky-Nesterov
methods applied in the paper permit to receive "in one line" expressions for
one-loop quantum energies in plurality of problems, including simple
calculation of the well known Casimir potentials. The paper traces the
relationship of "one-loop" formulas corresponding to Robin and to double-trace
