Frequency and wavenumber selective excitation of spin waves through coherent energy transfer from elastic waves
Yusuke Hashimoto ; Davide Bossini ; Tom H. Johansen ; Eiji Saitoh ; Andrei Kirilyuk ; Theo Rasing ;
Date 23 Oct 2017
AbstractFrequency and wavenumber selective optical excitation of spin waves through a coherent energy transfer from elastic waves is observed with a time-resolved magneto-optical microscope. The frequency and wavenumber of the spin waves are selected at the crossing of the dispersion relations of the spin waves and elastic waves, i.e. the resonance condition for the magnetoelastic coupling, and are controlled by applying an external magnetic field.
