Complementarity and causal propagation of decoherence by measurement in relativistic quantum field theories | Yoshimasa Hidaka

17 May 2022 | Abstract: | Entanglement generation by Newtonian gravitational potential between objects
has been widely discussed to reveal quantum nature of gravity. In this letter,
we perform a quantum field theoretical analysis of the Gedankenexperiment by
Belenchia et al. We show that decoherence due to measurement propagates with
the speed of light in terms of a retarded Green function, as it should be
consistent with causality of relativistic field theories. Quantum nature of
fields such as quantum fluctuations or emission of gravitons expressed in terms
of Keldysh Green function also plays important roles in mechanism of
decoherence. | Source: | arXiv, 2205.08403 | Services: | Forum | Review | PDF | Favorites |
