Correlated Photons from Collective Excitations of Three-Level Atomic Ensemble
Yong Li ; Li Zheng ; Yu-xi Liu ; C. P. Sun ;
Date 19 Oct 2005
AbstractWe systematically study the properties of photons emitted from the collective excitations of a three-level "atomic" ensemble with $Delta $-type (or cyclic) transitions, achieved in a superconducting circuit [Phys. Rev. Lett. 95, 087001 (2005)] most recently. We also discuss the generations of the entangled photon states, or entangled photon and atomic collective excitations by the coherent manipulation of the atom-photon system. By appropriately choosing the Rabi frequencies, we also show that the quantum information can be completely transferred from one quantized optical mode to another, and the quantum information carried by the two quantized optical fields can be stored in the collective modes of this "atomic" ensemble via adiabatic passage.
