Calculating the Thermal Rate Constant with Exponential Speed-Up on a Quantum Computer
Daniel A. Lidar ; Haobin Wang ;
Date 2 Jul 1998
Journal Phys.Rev. E59 (1999) 2429
Subject Quantum Physics; Chemical Physics | quant-ph physics.chem-ph
AffiliationUC Berkeley
AbstractIt is shown how to formulate the ubiquitous quantum chemistry problem of calculating the thermal rate constant on a quantum computer. The resulting exact algorithm scales exponentially faster with the dimensionality of the system than all known ``classical’’ algorithms for this problem.
