AbstractFinding out conditions which tell whether a set of orthogonal multipartite quantum states can be distinguished by local operations and classical communication (LOCC) is an ongoing investigation. We connect this question with generators of SU(N) and show that a nontrivial sufficient condition for a set of orthogonal quantum states to be locally indistinguishable can be checked in a systematic way. Interestingly we find that two orthogonal GHZ-like states and an arbitrary state from their complementary subspace cannot be distinguished by LOCC.
