Uncorrelated estimates of the primordial power spectrum | Zong-Kuan Guo

1 Sep 2011 | Abstract: | Measuring the deviation from scale invariance of the primordial power
spectrum is a critical test of inflation. In this paper we apply the localized
principle component analysis to constrain the primordial power spectrum of
curvature perturbations in five bins of wavenumber by the cosmic microwave
background data, including the 7-year Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe data
and the Atacama Cosmology Telescope data. We find that the Harrison-Zel’dovich
spectrum is disfavored at 95% confidence level. We also forecast the
sensitivity and constraints achievable by the Planck experiment by performing
Monte Carlo studies on simulated data. Planck could significantly improve the
constraints on the primordial power spectrum. | Source: | arXiv, 1109.0067 | Services: | Forum | Review | PDF | Favorites |
