Gravity and thermodynamics duality in dynamical spacetimes

AbstractWe define generally covariant thermodynamic quantities by employing Kodama vector. We build the general Smarr formula and prove that the connection between gravity and thermodynamics holds in the dynamical spacetime. We observe that Hawking--Page phase transition is a general feature of gravity and can happen in the dynamical spacetime as well. Furthermore we find the general Cardy--Verlinde formula, which suggests the interesting holographic dual between dynamical bulk spacetime and boundary conformal field theory.
