Evolutionary Memory in Binary Systems? | Netzach Farbiash & Raphael Steinitz
; | Date: |
8 Dec 2004 | Journal: | ASP Conference Series 318: Spectroscopically and Spatially Resolving the Components of Close Binary Stars, editors: Hilditch Ronald W., Hensberge Herman, and Pavlovski Kresimir, 2004, 226 | Subject: | astro-ph | Abstract: | Correlation between the spins (rotational velocities) in binaries has previously been established. We now continue and show that the degree of spin correlation is independent of the components’ separation. Such a result might be related for example to Zhang’s non-linear model for the formation of binary stars from a nebula. | Source: | arXiv, astro-ph/0412185 | Services: | Forum | Review | PDF | Favorites |
