Evolutionary Memory in Binary Systems?
Netzach Farbiash & Raphael Steinitz ;
Date 8 Dec 2004
Journal ASP Conference Series 318: Spectroscopically and Spatially Resolving the Components of Close Binary Stars, editors: Hilditch Ronald W., Hensberge Herman, and Pavlovski Kresimir, 2004, 226
Subject astro-ph
AbstractCorrelation between the spins (rotational velocities) in binaries has previously been established. We now continue and show that the degree of spin correlation is independent of the components’ separation. Such a result might be related for example to Zhang’s non-linear model for the formation of binary stars from a nebula.
