AbstractUsing a Magnetic Resonance Force Microscope, we have measured the ferromagnetic resonance spectrum of individual nonellipsoidal disk in the saturated regime. Studying the spectrum both as a function of frequency and disk diameter, we find that the lowest energy mode of samples, whose length scale along the field is 100nm, is not the uniform precession but instead a mode localized at the surface. This is supported by 3D simulations, which predicts a resonance in the region of minimum internal field.
