Fermi-liquid versus non-Fermi-liquid behavior in triple quantum dots | Rok Zitko

12 Jun 2006 | Subject: | Strongly Correlated Electrons | Abstract: | Using the numerical renormalization group we study two related three-impurity Anderson models with either electron hopping or exchange interaction between the impurities. At extremely low temperatures the system evolves for any non-zero value of the hopping parameter to the same strong-coupling Fermi-liquid fixed point. For small hopping, Kondo screening occurs in two stages. Below the upper Kondo temperature the system behaves as a two-channel Kondo model with slightly broken channel symmetry. Just below the lower Kondo temperature the system approaches an unstable non-Fermi-liquid fixed point. The model with spin-exchange interaction between the impurities has a stable non-Fermi-liquid ground state. | Source: | arXiv, cond-mat/0606287 | Other source: | [GID 311896] pmid17358806 | Services: | Forum | Review | PDF | Favorites |
