Coupled macroscopic quantum resonators: entanglement and squeezed state | L. Tian

30 Jun 2006 | Subject: | Mesoscopic Systems and Quantum Hall Effect | Abstract: | Linear coupling between solid-state quantum resonators generates entanglement and squeezing effectively. We study the coupled system of a nanomechanical resonator and a superconducting electrical resonator as well as two electrical resonators coupled through a novel d.c. SQUID-mediated variable capacitor, where the entanglement shows oscillatory behavior under linear operations. In particular, squeezed states can be generated through controlled coupling operations. Here, (one of) the electrical modes acts as a probe that measures the entanglement of the coupled system and the squeezing of the other resonator mode. | Source: | arXiv, cond-mat/0606787 | Services: | Forum | Review | PDF | Favorites |
