9 Jan 2007 | Subject: | Mesoscopic Systems and Quantum Hall Effect; Materials Science | Abstract: | A finite-element theory of thermoelectric transport in disordered magnetoelectronic circuits and devices is presented and applied to metallic spin valves. We predict that the relative magnetization direction can be reversed by the spin-transfer torque accompanying heat currents. The concept of a spin heat accumulation vector, i.e. a directional imbalance in the temperature of majority and minority spins in the normal metal spacer is investigated. | Source: | arXiv, cond-mat/0701163 | Services: | Forum | Review | PDF | Favorites |
