Ordered Lattice Defects in Colored Fluorite: Direct Observations | L E Murr
; | Date: |
18 Jan 1974 | Journal: | Science, 183 (4121), 206-208 | Abstract: | Ordered arrays of defect aggregates in the (111) planes of natural fluorite have been observed by transmission electron microscopy. The intense blue coloration observed in corresponding sample areas after 200-kilovolt electron microscopy confirms the conclusion that these are color-center aggregates and, conversely, that color centers are primarily responsible for fluorite coloration. | Source: | PubMed, pmid17777266 doi: 10.1126/science.183.4121.206 | Services: | Forum | Review | Favorites |
