AbstractMEGA is a next generation microlensing and variable star survey of M31. Our trial image subtractions show that we can detect new variable stars in M31’s globular clusters (GCs). Technical issues as well as possible implications for stellar evolution and galaxy formation theory are discussed. We may also find new GCs based on variability.
