Two-photon and two-gluon decay widths of S-wave and P-wave heavy quarkonia using Coulomb plus power law Potential ($CPP_ u$)

Date 6 Jan 2010
AbstractHere we present the two-photon and two-gluon decay widths of the S-wave ($eta_{Qin c,b}$) and P-wave ($chi_{Qin c,bJ}$) charmonium and bottonium states based on coulomb plus power form of the inter-quark potential ($CPP_ u$) with power index $ u$. The Schr$ddot{o}$dinger equation is solved numerically for different choices of the power index $ u$. We employ the masses of the S-wave and P-wave states and their radial wave functions obtained from the study to compute the two-photon and two-gluon decay widths. Present results are found to be in accordance with the known experimental values as well as with other model results for the choices of the inter-quark potential index in the range $0.3< u<0.7$ for both $car c$ and $bar b$ states.
