Creating Stable Dipolar Molecular Condensates via Weak Photoassociation
Matt Mackie ; Pierre Phou ;
Date 9 Mar 2010
AbstractWe model heteronuclear Raman photoassociation of a joint Bose-Einstein condensate of Li and Na atoms into stable dipolar molecules, including collisions and radiative decay. For dense condensates, a Landau-Zener sweep of the laser detuning across the two-photon resonance creates stable dipolar molecular condensate with near-unit efficiency, even for weak photoassociation.
