Superfluidity and Space-Time Translation Symmetry Breaking | Frank Wilczek
; | Date: |
27 Aug 2013 | Abstract: | I present a simple model that exhibits a temporal analogue of superconducting
crystalline (LOFF) ordering. I sketch designs for minimally dissipative AC
circuits, all based on time translation symmetry ($ au$) invariant dynamics,
exploiting weak links (Josephson effects). These systems violate $ au$
spontaneously. I also discuss effective theories of that phenomenon, and
space-time generalizations. | Source: | arXiv, 1308.5949 | Services: | Forum | Review | PDF | Favorites |
