One-parameter solutions of nonlinear second order ODEs
M.A. Reyes ; H.C. Rosu ;
Date 20 Oct 2005
AbstractIt has been proven by Rosu and Cornejo that for some nonlinear second order ODE’s it is a very simple task to find one particular solution once the nonlinear equation is factorized with the use of two first order differential operators. Here, it is shown that it is a very simple task to obtain a one-parameter class of solutions if the proposed factorization has a particular form, which happily turns out to be the case in many problems of physical interest. The method consists in using the Riccati equation to find the one-parameter solutions of the problem, and it is exemplified by a few explicitly solved problems
