Anomalous Hall effect induced by a purely longitudinal spin injection | S. Y. Liu

28 Aug 2006 | Subject: | Materials Science | Abstract: | Motivated by a recent experiment [Nature {f 442}, 176 (2006)], we present a microscopic theory to explain the anomalous Hall effect in spin injection taking account of electron-phonon scattering. We find that a purely longitudinal spin current, with no net electrical current, can give rise to a nonvanishing anomalous Hall voltage. Performing a numerical calculation for metal Al, we obtain anomalous Hall resistivities which are in good agreement with the experimental data. | Source: | arXiv, cond-mat/0608594 | Services: | Forum | Review | PDF | Favorites |
