A684 (2001) 397-399 | Subject: | nucl-th | Abstract: | A model calculation for the reactions $pp o pLambda K^+$ and $pp o NSigma K$ near their thresholds is presented. It is argued that the experimentally observed strong suppression of $Sigma^0$ production compared to $Lambda$ production at the same excess energy could be due to a destructive interference between the $pi$ and $K$ exchange contributions in the reaction $pp o pSigma^0 K^+$. Predictions for $pp o pSigma^+ K^0$ and $pp o nSigma^+ K^+$ are given. | Source: | arXiv, nucl-th/0006080 | Services: | Forum | Review | PDF | Favorites |
