Quantum Phase Transition in the Multi-mode Dicke model
Denis Tolkunov ; Dmitry Solenov ;
Date 11 Jun 2006
Subject Mesoscopic Systems and Quantum Hall Effect
AbstractInvestigation of quantum phase transition in both discrete and continuum field Dicke model is presented. The system constructed as an ensemble of identical two-level quantum objects, e.g. atoms, interacting with bosonic multi-mode field is not integrable, unless the rotating-wave assumption for the interaction is made. We derive an exact solution in the limit of large number of atoms where the model gains integrability. We demonstrate the presence of quantum phase transition in the model with various configurations of the field and the coupling. A series of anti-crossing features following the criticality is revealed in the band of the field modes. Critical exponents are calculated. We also investigate the properties of a pairwise entanglement measured by the concurrence and obtain analytical results in the thermodynamic limit.
