Cell-free protein synthesizing system from yeast mitochondria
A H Scragg ; H Morimoto ; V Villa ; J Nekhorocheff ; H O Halvorson ;
Date 5 Mar 1971
Journal Science, 171 (974), 908-10
AbstractAn active, cell-free protein synthesizing system has been obtained from yeast mitochondria. The system is stimulated by both polyuridylate and R17 RNA and is sensitive to inhibitors of bacterial protein synthesizing systems. A comparison is made between this system and that found in the cytoplasm of yeast.
